We have visited all holiday accommodations offered on our website to avoid any unpleasant surprises for you.
Holiday accommodations that, in our opinion, do not meet the average desire of our guests, are not included in our file!
However, this doesn’t mean that all accommodations are very luxurious or very exclusive.
There is something for everyone, expensive, cheaper, luxurious, simple, average etc.
With each holiday accommodation we place a brief description that always points out the positive, and less positive
features of the accommodation.
This allows you to get a good idea of what the accommodation is like, with the help of pictures.
Make sure you always read the descriptions carefully, they contain more information than you might think.
Through interaction with the responses of our guests and repeated visits to the accommodations we offer,
we try to keep our descriptions up-to-date and to encourage the home owners to do everything in their power
to provide you with a well-kept accommodation.
Your holidays are scarce which is why it is very important to us that your trip is a great success.
If you have any questions after reading our information or if you would like personal advice regarding
your choice, do not hesitate to e-mail us. See you!.
Whether you are planning a weekend, a midweek or a longer holiday, a trip to French or German, Belgium makes you aware
of the fact that you are abroad. At, on average, a two to three hour drive, you are in a completely different landscape,
different language, different food, a true escape!
The Belgian Ardennes and Eifel are of unprecedented beauty.
There is something to do for everyone, the number of activities and sports is impossible to list, but whatever you choose
to do, wherever you look you see the beautiful landscape!
Almost all of our holiday homes are located in tiny, lovely peasant villages with peaks up to 550 m in altitude.
It is an Eldorado for paddlers and fishers, a river is always near. The Maas, Ourthe, Amel, Hogne, Aisne, Warche, Vesdre,
Lienne, Salm, Semois, you just choose and paddle! For the rafters among you, there is a practice area nearby.
A spectacular rafting area, especially when the water level is high in the spring!
For mountain bikers, the Ardennes and the Eifel are great. You can’t imagine any better mountain bike track, thousands
of kilometers or track with directions. Mountain bikes can be rented everywhere in the region.
It is also a great location for regular biking. What about the "Pre-Ravell" a paved bicycle route along an old railroad
track from Waismes to St. Vith. Since it concerns an old railroad track, the route is very flat, but it is also paved,
20 beautiful kilometers through the wonderful landscape of Born, Montenau, Ondenval among other places.
Truly recommended, for hikers as well.
Hikers can start their adventure in the back yard. You can take hiking trips for weeks, without ever taking the same path
twice. In many areas, you’ll find marked hiking trails of varies lengths and of course GRs, so there’s something for everyone!
Horse lovers will enjoy the riding schools that rent boxes and / or horses, at walking distance or a little further from the
holiday accommodation. For trained riders, the vast forests and pastures are a true experience.
In the immediate vicinity of your holiday accommodation, you’ll always find rivers, swimming pools, tennis tracks, golf tracks,
playgrounds and restaurants. The tourist villages, such as La Roche, Durbuy, Houffalize, Dinant, Malmedy, Stavelot, Spa,
Bastogne, Bouillon, Saint Hubert, Florenville, Aywaille, Eupen, Rochefort with their many shops, terraces and restaurants
are never far away and are always fun to visit.
There are various websites that provide details about attractions in the various locations.
In Belgium there are a lot of outdoor companies. They can help you and assist you in your sports activities.
Check out our links, we have made a small selection for you.
For people above 50 and 65, there is an ever increasing amount of adjusted program. For them the Ardennes and the Eifel are
mainly something they know from their childhood, but now that they have more time, it’s truly worthwhile to return.
In various regions, hiking trails have been created, ideal for Nordic Walking and biking as well.
We try to encourage outdoor companies to start renting bikes with electric auxiliary motor to allow you to ride up a hill
without being overly tired once you read it. With these kinds of bikes, the Ardennes are extremely pleasing, without
requiring excessive exercise.
In the file of Aaro, you’ll find a lot of holiday accommodations for 2 persons, and an increasing amount of adjusted
holiday accommodations and mid-weeks are not expensive. If you book a large house with a larger group of people,
your trip will be even cheaper, while everyone has their own bedroom, so .......grey hairs are welcome!
Finally, winter sports. The Ardennes and the Eifel run up to altitudes of 550m, which is much higher than in the Netherlands.
This means that, at those altitudes, the winters are colder, with much more chance of snow.
There are various ski slopes, but tons of trails for cross-country skiers in Baraque de Fraiture, Odeigne, Samree, Vielsalm,
the High Fans, for instance. Riding a sleigh is always fun and what about a stroll in an enchanting white winter landscape?
I could fill many pages about this Belgian landscape, which stole my heart. I’ve been able to enjoy it every day for the
past 25 years. Through our holiday accommodations, we would like you to benefit from this retreat as well.
A short escape from daily strain and stress. Here, in the Ardennes and the Eifel you can fully recharge in nature,
if only for a weekend. I assure you it will feel like a week!
We hope to see you!
